Unmade ILX post

Saying “There is no ‘broader culture’ to have a sense about” is sort of missing the point, in that like the existence of God, what matters is whether or not people ACT as if there’s a broader culture to have a sense about.

(The analogy isn’t perfect, since the existence of a broader culture is testable, and also since if enough people act like a broader culture exists, then it kind of does - which isn’t true of God unless you subscribe to some fairly esoteric philosophies.)

Just listened to Melvyn Bragg discussing Logical Positivism so I’m slightly wary about this being on the testable tip. However, this feels like a massive post to me and the truth of it is definitely speeding up the trajectory I’m on. I’ve been checking the Billboard charts almost “religiously” now for past 2 months. It really does have an overall effect of pushing me from time into space when I go out at night around here. Also, girls appreciate the extra effort. :)

“The Birth of Tragedy” bit just knocked my socks off. What a glaring contrast with John Cage. Real interesting stuff to chew on. Also, in my view, this guy really embraces Socrates and that is always dope.
On to the “Morals” part.

Lady GaGa has “an endless muse-like vision of monsters and playgirls” and loves her gay audience, but doesn’t feel that her music is distracted her sexuality.

Lady GaGa doing a pretty good Dylan (1965) impersonation.

Prima materia

Therefore, we see not only the anguish and despair of the beginning, but the seeds of rejuvenation, rebirth and promised illumination of the final stages of the process. Thus, prima materia is the seed of the process, which takes place in the natural mind; it is the seed of enlightenment. The Crown of Creation is an overarching symbol equating with the top sphere Kether in Qabala. It triumphs over the terrible Dragon of the primal, unrefined condition, represented by the dragon or Terrible Mother. In the bottom-center is Atlas holding the earth to symbolize the material sphere of Malkuth. All is one magical movement from Kether through Malkuth. Ego cannot separate itself from the powers and abilities of the subconscious. To submit this material to the process means to apply conscious effort to the task, and find our own experiential spirituality. Prima Materia represents the crossroads or crisis preceding a spiritual awakening (intellectual doubts, metaphysical problems).

The European Revolutions of 1848, known in some countries as the Spring of Nations, Springtime of the Peoples or the Year of Revolution, were a series of political upheavals throughout the Europeancontinent. Described by some historians as a revolutionary wave, the period of unrest began in France and then, further propelled by the French Revolution of 1848, soon spread to the rest of Europe.
While the immediate political effects of the revolutions were largely reversed, the long-term reverberations of the events were far-reaching.
Alexis de Tocqueville remarked in his Recollections of the period that “society was cut in two: those who had nothing united in common envy, and those who had anything united in common terror.”
Germania is a painting by Philipp Veit created in March 1848 during the Revolutions of 1848. It was used as an allegoric decoration in the National Assembly in Frankfurt’s Paulskirche, where it concealed the organ. It was meant as a symbol of a united democratic Germany and remained a national personification until the end of World War I.

It’s really intense – it’s dark. To me it’s super dark. It’s definitely a vibe that I feel like I’m not so close to, it’s more of the other guys who are the horror movie guys.
